That is a terrible idea, at least if the results of the competition are 
in any way binding. Mozilla had a competition to design a throbber way 
back when, and ended up with something that looked cool for exactly five 
minutes and terrible thereafter.

IMO, this is precisely the wrong way to do UI design.
