Thorsten,

I changed the sql mode to mysql40, but I still get the same error any other
options except conversion to Postgress. And using an older version of
Bugzilla, might this work?

Did you check the SQL mode active after changing your config and restarting
the database? That config might simply be overridden for some reason. Or
that blog post might be wrong, the SO-answers I linked use a different
approach, so trya that as well.

If you can't get it to work, there's still the possibility to move to
PostgreSQL.
