automated check ins for older, open BugZilla bug reports

Hi BugZilla Developers,

While I am not on this Mailman 2 mailing list
(https://lists.bugzilla.org/listinfo/developers), I just posted some
feedback & suggestions on the #bugzilla IRC with Libera
(https://wiki.mozilla.org/Bugzilla:Communicate#Developers_List), that I
would also like to share here:

I have noticed that there are many very old bug reports on BugZilla that
seem like they could benefit from an automated check in.

Something short, such as:

"Hi, is this issue still present on your current setup?

If so, what version of Firefox/Thunderbird/other Mozilla product are you
using? (please copy & paste the user agent info)

Also, what operating system are you using?

Thanks!"

The goal of such an automated 'check in' would be to try to see which
reporters & commenters are still experiencing those issues & might be
interested in adding to or updating their BugZilla bug reports.

Encouraging those reporters & commenters to note the current versions of
the Mozilla products (Firefox, Thunderbird, etc.) they use and the
current versions of their OSs would also be helpful in diagnosing any
potential issues.

I would think that it would make the most sense to start with the oldest
bug reports because those would seem to be the most likely to be very
out of date (using very old versions & OSs and many reporters and
commenters may no longer have those email addresses) and easier to
assess & close.

Does that seem like a good idea?
