We've configured Bugzilla to use the "mail" attribute to login, since 
they were used to doing that with Bugzilla already.  In fact, we use the 
mail attribute for just about everything that pertains to login.

Bugzilla automatically stores the uid in extern_id I believe, which is 
quite handy.
