	We had a project to do that, we abandoned it as we found that
our current method was much easier and that using autoconf had no
advantages. I think you'll find the combination of checksetup.pl and
the Bugzilla::Install modules to be much easier for both us and the
end-user, given enough time to see the difference between them and
autoconf.
