Resolutions

First of all, my apologies on asking this question -- I can tell by
looking over past messages both here and elsewhere, it has been a
question that's been asked a lot (and probably a bothersome one) --
but I am asking it because I have not been able to find either a clear
answer or a very recent answer, so here goes:

What is the recommended path with Bugzilla if you need to have custom
resolution types? Originally we had been running a version 2.18
installation, and had tried to follow some instructions which
described modifying the checksetup.pl script to adjust some parameters
as described in this post:

but I did not have success. After I made the changes and then re-ran
checksetup.pl and tired to run any queries, it would give me a long
error about an invalid mysql query with the word 'isbless' in it.

I am wondering, if I desire to add custom types, should I run 2.18 or
2.19.2? Is their a different method for both versions? Is their a plan
to have it as a feature in an up-coming release? If the best thing to
do is follow those instructions above, then I will try it again, I
just wanted to get some current opinions and guidance.
