I've attached patches to the bug that'll fix it for new installs
(AFAICT, i don't have a setup to test with right now) - but it may
have issues with collectstats.pl.

I'm a little worried about the upgrade scenario- from a code read, it
*should* be safe to do what I did, but I can't test, so... :/
