Future of this list

This coming month, the long-standing dream of moving the
netscape.public.mozilla.* newsgroup hierarchy to mozilla.* and getting
it onto a server Mozilla has control over is finally coming true.
This mailing list was born because the only newsgroup that covered
Bugzilla was netscape.public.mozilla.webtools, and it was drowning in
end-user support traffic. We created it here because there was no way
to add new newsgroups on the old server (we didn't have any control over
it).
With the coming newsgroups reorganization this next month, the existing
netscape.public.mozilla.webtools newsgroup is getting split into FOUR
(4) different newsgroups in the mozilla.* hierarchy. One of which is
intended to be a direct analog of this mailing list (developer discussion).
The new newsgroups will be:
mozilla.dev.apps.bugzilla <- Bugzilla developer discussion
mozilla.dev.apps.webtools <- Other webtools developer discussion
mozilla.support.bugzilla <- Bugzilla end-user support
mozilla.support.webtools <- Other webtools end-user support
These will all be gatewayed to mailing lists with periods changed to
hyphens and @lists.mozilla.org tacked on the end.
So we now have a decision to make.
I *could* make an attempt to gateway *this* mailing list to the new
newsgroup if we wanted. I don't know offhand how to do it. Majordomo2
doesn't include this functionality by default, but there are people that
have done it, so I know it can be done.
Or we could move wholesale to the new list.
Or we could keep them separate, continue to have both and have
disjointed discussions. :)
Or any of a few other possibilities (we could veto the creation of the
new dev group, too, though I'm not sure we would want to do that).
What's everyone's thoughts on this?
