Doomed Reports?

In the version of Bugzilla I currently run at Async (2.17.early) we can
get bug counts per engineer. I don't see a way to do that in modern
Bugzilla, though I may just be a victim of the UI. 

I see that it was removed a while back:

    2002-10-16 20:09  gerv%gerv.net

        * reports.cgi, CGI.pl,
        template/en/default/global/user-error.html.tmpl,
        template/en/default/global/code-error.html.tmpl: Bug 172959 -
        Remove old reporting (most doomed etc.). Patch by gerv; r=bbaetz.

But I'm having a hard time understanding why if this functionality is no
longer available. Or if it is, can someone hold my hand and explain it
to me?
