upgrading from 2.14.1 to 2.16.5

Does anyone know of any major concerns or 'gotchas' to look out for when
upgrading from version 2.14.1 to the current stable version 2.16.5?  Any
extra patches or applications needed for all of the enhancements or is it
safe to simply do the upgrade?

 

If there are any BIG changes or enhancements you'd like to point out to us,
I'd really appreciate that info as well.  We're poking around the bug logs
but there are obviously many changes made between those versions to read
through.
