We may want to expand the list of blocked competing ads after it goes live
based upon what we see people coming up with, but I definitely don't think
we should block products that build upon our source:
a) That's the open source "business model"
b) It shows corporations who feel they need official "support" that they
can get it from another company, who is semi-external to
BZ-the-organization (who they can then sue for any and/or no reason)
c) They're not really "competing" products; since they're based on us, it's
the same code, except you pay for it. In that regard, we still blow them
away on one feature: cost.
Assuming the ads are tastfully integrated, I'm all for that. Even if a
competing ad pops up every once in awhile, it's all the more motivation to
make BZ better than anything out there.
Later,
Paul
