This is a really really ancient message so I apologize, but I just
realized nobody replied (or if they did it was off-list). Even if you
already figured this out I'll get the reply out here in case it helps
anyone else searching the archives later.

The language-related parameters were removed in version 5.0 in favor of:
* Any language you have installed is automatically made available to
end users. If you don't want end users seeing it, don't install it.
* The default language is automatically set based on the preferences
of the end user's browser.
This seems to be already corrected in the documentation, and that
documentation fix was included in version 5.0rc1, so I'm kinda curious
where you found the above documentation snippet.
