I don't see the point to keep them in archive. Those should be deleted,
including their corresponding DB.

If by "dead tools" you mean tools/installs.cgi, I don't see why you
removed it. It was working fine, and was restricted to LDAP users. Now I
see it's gone.

Obsolete ones should be removed entirely, see above.
