Does no-one have any input on this? It would be a great shame if I were
to do this work and it were then considered unsuitable for upstream due
to some objection which could have been dealt with if it were raised at
this stage.

Does anyone object to the principle of the idea of separating Bugzilla's
notion of email address from the notion of the identifier you use to log in?
