True. So let's not ask: "how can we change the philosophy to include
reporting", but "should reporting be part of the Bugzilla core?".

Most of the serious reporting done on Bugzilla within Mozilla is done by
exporting the data into a different sort of database more optimized for
reporting (see e.g. dascher's work using CouchDB, but also murali's work).

Should we be moving towards a world where we support external dedicated
tools for reporting (from CSV export right up to Crystal Reports) rather
than doing it ourselves?

Perhaps too big a question for now. But my point is: let's not write a
philosophy with the aim of having it cover everything we do at the
moment. Because if we succeed, then we haven't learned anything :-)
