I agree with you.  Other things you have to consider when you compare
the pros and cons of a language is for me: 
* Windows-available, how easy it is to run ruby / pyton etc under
cross-platform environments? 
* support for designer-tools / debugging assistants I know that there
are many Java / PHP / C# Tools, but I don't know any perl/ Ruby etc
tools, to support development.
