Hi all,

We are starting QA tests for Bugzilla 3.0.1, 2.22.3 and 2.20.5 today.

I email you either because you emailed me to say you were interested in
contributing, because you already belong to the QA team :) or because
you may be interested in contributing.

Looking at checkins we already did + the 3 security bugs which will be
fixed in these releases, I can already give you the following information:

- Since we released 2.20.4, all checkins on this branch were about
documentation, and the single security bug which affects 2.20.4 is so
minor and safe to fix that we won't do anything special about this
branch except running our existing Selenium scripts on it.

- About 2.22.3, all checkins but 2 are about documentation. The
remaining 2 checkins are about saving buglists in the iCalendar format
and importing bugs using importxml.pl. So that's the only two things we
will pay attention to for this branch besides our usual Selenium
scripts. The same minor security bug as above affects this branch, so no
special attention is required about it.

- Now about 3.0.1, we did many non-trivial checkins, some of which have
a high impact, e.g. when moving bugs to another product (group
security), when using WebService, bugmail, flags, attachment MIME
detection, etc... Also, all 3 security bugs affect this branch and they
need to be well tested. So Bugzilla 3.0.1 is the version on which we
will spend most of our time during QA. As for other branches, our
Selenium scripts are here to test most features automatically, but there
are still several areas which are not fully covered by these automated
tests yet. That's where you can help us! Last time we checked, there
were more than 86,000 downloads of Bugzilla 3.0. Help us making sure
that 3.0.1 will be as successful and as stable as 3.0 currently is.

If you need more information or if you are interested in helping us
testing Bugzilla, please join us on IRC in the #qa-bugzilla channel.

If everything goes well (and this also depends on how many people are
helping us), 3.1.1, 3.0.1, 2.22.3 and 2.20.5 should be available in 7-10
days.
