This is great news.

I did not dare installing apache yet on our windows box, mostly because of
the time needed to read the settings and docs, as well as because there is
no "official" SSL binaries. 
But it may be worth the upgrade with mod_perl support in 3.0.

Regarding IIS, have you ever tried using the ISAPI DLL from activestate ?
This could possibly boost performance, but I am not very knowledgeable on
that.
