And I did a bunch of tests before that which showed just the opposite.
Until the discrepancy can be explained, neither set of tests should be
regarded as definitive, IMHO.

I started to evaluate Myk's test program soon after he posted it, but I must
admit that ennui set in before I got very far.  A decision from David seemed
imminent, I was feeling argued-out, and was fatalistically willing to accept
the official pronouncement.  But if the debate is still raging, perhaps I
can summon up the fortitude for another round of tests today or this
weekend.

One difficulty for me has been that Myk has yet to fully define his
proposal.  Whether fields live in columns all in the same table, all in
different tables, or divided between various tables in some fashion, and how
the administrator would manage things in the last case, he has never stated,
unless I've missed something.  Advocating a concrete proposal against one so
nebulously described has been frustrating.
