Hey developers. So, as of a few days ago, checksetup can now
successfully complete an initial run on PostgreSQL. This means that it
can create all the database tables, and set up the initial product.
So, if you'd like to help test PostgreSQL support, you may.
HOWEVER, BE WARNED: YOU CANNOT UPGRADE FROM THIS VERSION ON POSTGRESQL.
So DO NOT USE POSTGRESQL IN A PRODUCTION ENVIRONMENT.
In order to upgrade your PostgreSQL database from this version, I can
ABSOLUTELY promise you that you will have to DROP THE DATABASE.
In fact, if you're going to track CVS development with the database,
I'd recommend dropping it every few days and re-creating it, just to
stay in sync.
Before you file any bugs against PostgreSQL support, please look over
the already-filed open blockers that we know about:
<https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/showdependencytree.cgi?
id=98304&hide_resolved=1>
If you file a new bug about PostgreSQL support, please make it block
bug 98304, and CC myself and Tomas.Kopal.
If you have any questions about PostgreSQL support, you can ask me in
IRC (if I'm around).
