I think it should be possible, once you've got a reviewer lined up, to 
say "Fred and I are working on this patch which is really sensitive in 
BugMail.pm. Can people hold off checking in there for a week or two?"

(That is true of my patch, BTW, everyone :-)

True enough; I'm just asking that the hyperactive developers share the 
love around a bit, rather than repeatedly leaving people eating their 
dust as they speed off into the sunset ;-)
