Possible new class of bugs

I don't like that idea because it prevents me from using _xyz as a p/c name,
something I do currently without any issues.  One challenge I run into as a
result, however, is the sorting is inconsistent for p/c's starting with _ -
sometimes it shows up first, sometimes last.  My hope is they would show up
last.  Just a thought...
