Upgrading Bugzilla from 2.17.1 to 2.18

Hi,

Sorry for posting on this forum, but i was not getting any response from perforce or bugzilla users mailing lists:

How do i upgrade bugzilla, Since as per bugzilla upgrade using patches:

bash$ cd /var/www/html/bugzilla
bash$ wget ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/webtools/<for example
bugzilla-2.16.1-to-2.16.2.diff.gz>
Output omitted
bash$ gunzip bugzilla-2.16.1-to-2.16.2.diff.gz
bash$ patch -p1 < bugzilla-2.16.1-to-2.16.2.diff
patching file checksetup.pl
patching file collectstats.pl
patching file globals.pl

i do not see 2.17.1-to-2.18
Also concidering MAJOR Customizations were made by previous bugzilla
admin,
How can i make sure that the changes are preserved.
