checksetup.pl problem

I just installed, but haven't deployed 2.16.5. Hearing that 2.18 was on 
its way, I decided to give the cvs tip a try. When I ran checksetup.pl I 
   see the following error:

Adding new field refreshed_when to table profiles ...
Use of uninitialized value in concatenation (.) or string at 
./checksetup.pl line 3502.
DBD::mysql::st execute failed: You have an error in your SQL syntax near 
'' at line 2 at ./checksetup.pl line 3504.
DBD::mysql::st fetchrow_array failed: fetch() without execute() at 
./checksetup.pl line 3505.

I think the error come about becaue the table fielddefs does not have 
and entry where name = 'groupset'.

I have not used the groups functionality.
