At least Perforce and Subversion have repository wide changeset numbers.

CVS gets real fun with branches.
So you start with 1.1, you branch, you get 1.1.1.1.  Of course, we also have
imports, so 1.1.1 is possible too.

At one point you create a branchpoint, so 1.57 for example, and when you
then branch you could get 1.57.4.1. :S
I am sure there's some logic there somewhere...
