Nevermind. We could get fancy thought and verify if new_version is =
old_version + 1, and account for the case where either is NONE. Should
at least give the user an error message letting them know whitespaces
and commas will screw things up. If the synchronous nature of the glue
forbids users from ever commiting such files, then it will no longer be
a problem!
