:-)
A while back someone said that porting the RedHat XML-RPC code to the
current mainline was trivially done. Does any own that? Has anyone
reviewed the API to see that it is complete, or at least serves the
needs of those wanting to integrate with BZ?
I want an external interface that exposes more, or at least
lower-level, functionality than the web interface. For example, I want
to be able to programmatically add the same milestone to multiple
products. Right now I do this in raw SQL. I shouldn't have to.
In the past I had a Python library that provided a lot of this
functionality for me, but the schema changed and I never updated it (a
prime example of the maintainability problem.)
With appropriate abstraction, the Bugzilla CGI would use the same
underlying mechanisms that the XML-RPC/SOAP bindings would, minimizing
duplication and ensuring consistency.
Go ahead Gerv, flame on.
