I am glad to see code contributions coming in this way.  Hopefully, he 
is prepared to have 16 advisors :-)

How long do you expect this project to take?   Have you landed pathces 
before?

One caution...
   We expect that users may have customized CheckCanChangeField and 
expect to be able to continue to upgrade after making such a 
customization.  Even moving the routing to another module will cause 
them some difficulty which is probably unavoidable.  However, it should 
be extremely clear how we expect them to migrate from an old version to 
the new version and how they should structure their changes to make 
future merges as simple as possible.
