Put our code where our mouth is.

One problem I see with most bugs is that there's too much debate and not
enough implementation.  Some discussions are from 2001 or 2002 and
still going on!  Also some bugs tend to drift off into other
nice-to-have categories, which means a certain bug report will never be
closed.

I intend to go scourging the bugs in the coming periods, since I finally
got more time again.
