Accept Bug

I was looking at a peculiar thing on the bug database. When you look at a
bug that is marked NEW but assigned to someone else and you select the radio
button for accept bug, (Change status to assigned) it does not change the
owner to the person who selected accept. Does this sound right? if you open
some else's bug and click the link that says accept the bug, should it not
assign to the user who made the selection?
