This brings up a good question which I don't think has been discussed
before: Will Bugzilla-the-project accept code which uses a
platform/language other than perl into the official CVS tree?

I don't mean for this to degenerate into a language war; I'm asking only
because there are infrastructure requirements by virtue of having Bugzilla
installed (certain perl version, certain DBI version, etc.). I don't know
if gnats is in Python (I tried looking for a few seconds, but didn't find
an answer), but what are the ramifications of accepting code into the tree
that's not perl?

Will there be more documentation issues? Support issues? Will people who
can't get gnats2bz.py working start asking us questions we may (or probably
won't) be able to answer?

I do not at all mean to discourage your rewrite, Dan; I'm just wondering
about where your code should live when it's done.

Later,
Paul
