If you start in that direction you will, never meet everyone requirement, make 
the code bigger and probably make more complex parsing rule than necessary.  
It is better to define Simple API and have "plumbing" scripts that convert 
from one to another.  That is being seen in most software even XML with XLST 
goes along this philosophy.
